Special thanks to JORD wood watches for sponsoring this post.
As always, all opinions are mine alone. See below for JORD’s exclusive discount (and a giveaway) for readers of Mama Harris’ Kitchen!
If you know me, you know that I am always running late. I’ve gotten better at this in recent years, but for a very long time it was a big problem. Oh, especially when the littles were a toddler and a baby, I was lucky to ever even make it for planned events.
It’s funny too, because I have clocks and watches and reminders and everything, so it’s not like I loose track of time or anything. I’m just the one person that tries to do it all and end up overwhelmed and out of time, and I’m constantly apologizing for it too! It’s not intentional at all, matter of fact I actually have the best of intentions.
That’s why I was so excited when JORD wood watches reached out to me about a partnership. I’ve coveted their watches for a few years now, and thought the designs were so beautiful and different from most other watches I’ve seen. After pouring through their website and searching for the perfect watch (trust me it was difficult!) I finally settled on the Fieldcrest Series in Zebrawood and Maple. I love the combination of the different woods and the simple design. This watch is ideal for daily use because it goes with everything and it’s easy to dress up or dress down.
The first thing I noticed when I tried on my new wood watch was how lightweight it is. Between cooking, baking (and washing all those dishes), photographing and all the other computer work I do in addition to being mom.. well comfort definitely comes first. I love to wear jewelry and accessorize, but when I’m home I strip all of my jewelry off because it tends to feel constricting. This watch is so lightweight that I don’t even notice it, which says a lot! I love the look of bulky watches but they can be so heavy sometimes, this watch is anything but heavy.
Considering that the creators of JORD wood watches are focused on creating timepieces that are suited for a modern lifestyle, that is probably why it works for me. With values like efficiency and sustainability, these watches are hand-crafted and each and every watch has a story to tell.
The zebrawood and maple on my particular watch are hand finished and pretreated with tung oils. The Fieldcrest is splash-proof and is best cleaned with lemon or orange oil for the natural wood. Each watch comes with a one year warranty, a cleansing cloth and is encased in a beautiful wooden box and wrapped around a cushion also bearing the JORD logo. You will also find tips on how to care for your new watch, which I can definitely appreciate.
I’ve received so many compliments on my watch, whether I’m just taking the kids to school, grocery shopping, or attending an event or brunch with friends. It’s the perfect watch for all occasions and I love to pair it with my favorite cute and cozy clothes for the season. During the Fall and Winter seasons I love wearing chunky sweaters and cute cardigans with distressed jeans and boots. Whether I’m wearing all black or a variety of colors, this watch always looks just right. I’m looking forward to the warmer months of Spring and Summer just so I can see what other types of outfits this gorgeous watch compliments.
My particular watch is listed on the JORD website under both men’s and women’s watches, but there are also some that are unmistakably feminine or masculine as well. I love the variety of colors and styles of the various watches, there’s really something for everyone. JORD uses sustainable wood from all over the world, including ebony, bamboo, olive, koa, maple and more. Since each watch is hand-crafted that means that each and every timepiece is one-of-a-kind!
