Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Sprint. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.
Well, the time has officially come. All the kids are back to school, and suddenly I have time to myself during the day.. well at least 3 days out of the week I do. Now that the kids are in school, and the littlest ones are settling into a new school year routine, I need some routines of my own! Since writing about food has become a full time thing for me, I need to get a little more active to compensate for the food testing and tasting that comes with the territory of a food blogger.
That’s why I was so excited when I received my latest phone to review as a Sprint Mom Ambassador. I received a shiny and pretty cherry red Samsung Galaxy S5, in the new Sport version available exclusively for Sprint customers.
I laughed when I opened the box and saw this gorgeous red device, because I had just had a conversation with my daughter and a few friends about electronics and appliances being prettier in red. Needless to say I was immediately excited and couldn’t wait to play!
I immediately set up the phone and customized everything to my liking. I noticed how user friendly the phone is, and not at all difficult to find settings or figure out how things work.
What I also love, since it’s the Sport model, is that this particular Samsung S5 comes with a lot of apps to get you moving. This is perfect since I plan to fully take advantage of my newfound free time by getting more active. D-Man and RoRo’s school is close enough to walk, but far enough for it to be a challenge. So my plan is to walk to and from their school at least 1-2 times a week and as long as I have the Samsung S5 Sport with me, I can count my steps and keep track of how many calories I’ve burnt.
In the past I’ve tried a lot of different ways to get fit, lose weight, or live a healthier lifestyle and I’ve found that I work well with apps on my phone that help me keep track of calories and exercise. In addition, some great workout music is a must to get you going during that power walk, and as a benefit of being on the Sprint Framily plan you get to enjoy 3 months free of Spotify premium. That’s great if you’re like me and use music to motivate your workouts.

I used a few fitness apps before trying this device, but I like how it places them all in one spot and they work off of each other and it makes it easy by allowing you to keep track of your workouts, monitor your heart rate and help achieve your fitness goals. Not only are the apps a great addition, but the Sport model has a textured body for increased grip and three hard keys for easier navigation while active – and it’s also water and dust resistant!
As a food blogger, the camera is super important to me and this phone comes with a dual camera as well as Studio, which is a complete photo and video editing suite. For all the impressive features, check out more information on Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy S5 Sport at newsroom.sprint.com
