#SaveMartMakeMemories holidays review Save Mart Supermarket Thomas Cookware

Collect and Cook with Save Mart and Thomas Cookware

Disclosure: I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central for Save Mart Supermarkets. I received Thomas Cookware items to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. As always, all opinions are my own.

This time of year I like to go through my kitchen supplies and make sure I have all the serving platters, casserole dishes and pots and pans that I may need for the upcoming holiday season. Every year I vow to purchase a complete new set of cookware, but somehow another year goes by without doing so. Instead I’ll pick up a few items here and there that may replace and older piece, but I’ve yet to purchase a new quality set that matches.

Collect and Cook with Save Mart and Thomas Cookware - Mama Harris' KitchenThis may just be my year though! Save Mart, one of my favorite grocery stores, has a Collect and Cook Program going on NOW in stores. Now, what is the Collect and Cook Program? Oh, I’m so glad you asked!

Collect and Cook with Save Mart

  • Shopping at Save Mart Supermarkets can get you FREE high quality cookware just for purchasing your everyday groceries.
  • From September 3rd through January 20th shoppers earn 1 bonus stamp for every $10 spent at Save Mart Supermarkets and can put these bonus stamps towards receiving free Thomas Cookware pieces, exclusively at Save Mart Supermarkets.
  • The Thomas Cook & Pour  Cookware line includes a range of 9 pieces designed to go straight from your stove to the oven (4 non-stick pans and 5 multi-function pots.) Many of these pieces have a unique pour and strain feature for ease of use.

Collect and Cook with Save Mart and Thomas Cookware - Mama Harris' KitchenNow I have no problem collecting these stamps (plus the bonus ones!) because the closest grocery store to me is Save Mart. It’s where I go when I’m in the middle of cooking and realize I forgot an ingredient, and I’m even known to go power walking through my neighborhood with the jogging stroller and stop in to Save Mart for a few snacks. What I also love about Save Mart is that it’s a small grocery chain that started right here in Northern California, and it still has that neighborhood grocery store feel to it. Matter of fact, my local store has the best customer service, the cashiers have genuine and longstanding relationships with their customers and even the management recognizes me and says hello whenever I’m shopping.

Collect and Cook with Save Mart and Thomas Cookware - Mama Harris' KitchenNow, winning things is always fun, but I wanted to check out the quality of these pots that way if I like them I might just have a complete set by the end of the year! I received the 8″ stainless steel saucepan with glass lid that holds 3 quarts and the 11″ stainless steel non-stick grill pan. Both of these items have the cook and pour feature and come with a 2 year guarantee.

Collect and Cook with Save Mart and Thomas Cookware - Mama Harris' KitchenThere’s a few things that I just love about BOTH pans, like the beautiful stainless steel handle with a thumb grip, the fact that both pans have a nice weight to them, they both have the cook and pour feature, AND they can go from stove top to oven.

Collect and Cook with Save Mart and Thomas Cookware - Mama Harris' KitchenI’ve had a few pots with metal handles, and the screws always get loose and you have to search for a screwdriver to tighten them every few days. Not these pots! They are secured with rivets that I can’t imagine coming loose. I did mention you can use these in the oven, but they are also dishwasher safe as well! I know that’s unheard of with most non-stick pans, but it’s good to know!

Collect and Cook with Save Mart and Thomas Cookware - Mama Harris' KitchenI decided to test out these pieces on a busy weeknight for a quick family dinner. One of those twenty minute meals that you don’t have a lot of time to fuss in the kitchen, and you need good and solid pots to cook the food properly. I decided to do a blackened tilapia in the pan with some buttery noodles with a few seasonings rubbed in. All you need is a side salad and you’re good to go, and with these pots clean up is a snap!

Collect and Cook with Save Mart and Thomas Cookware - Mama Harris' KitchenI found that both pots heated quickly and evenly, which is very important. I loved the way the grill pan covered a lot of space, I could have made at least 5 tilapia fillets with all the space I had.

Collect and Cook with Save Mart and Thomas Cookware - Mama Harris' KitchenThe saucepan boiled fairly quickly, and the noodles didn’t stick, the pour feature worked great to strain the noodles and the seasonings were easy to clean off once I was done. No extra dishes is always a plus!

Collect and Cook with Save Mart and Thomas Cookware - Mama Harris' KitchenCollect and Cook with Save Mart and Thomas Cookware - Mama Harris' KitchenMy in-laws even stopped by when I was preparing this meal, and she remarked on what a gorgeous set of cookware it was. Of course I told her all about it and she’s ready to save her stamps for the grill pan that I have. I’m also on my way to my next pot, I think I have my eye on the 8″ Non-stick Fry Pan.

Was that grill pan easy to clean? That dinner looks delicious by the way.

Thank you! Yes, it was super easy to clean. I have another grill pan that is wrought iron and it is the biggest pain to clean. This one was easy and I was pleasantly surprised. Both pans actually wiped clean rather easily.

I really need to invest in some cookware. The food looks delicious!

[Sponsored]: Summertime is coming and will be here before we know it! You all know that I love easy meals during the warmer months, and I also love a good meal in a bowl. It’s also Vidalia Onion season 🧅 so I paired this seasonal favorite with pan-seared shrimp and veggies as a light rice bowl using your choice of grains.☺️This meal is an absolute delight!

#OnlyVidalia Get the recipe and all the Vidalia Onion details by clicking the link in my profile @mamaharriskitchen. Also make sure to grab some @vidaliaonions1 from your local grocer before they are out of season in late August/early September.☀️

(AD) There has been a lot of cooking going on this year, so I’ve tried to make life a bit easier by getting creative with my leftovers. These pulled pork totchos are a great example of leftovers with a few key ingredients to create something new to keep our meals exciting. Adding a few key ingredients like @lamorenausa adobo peppers and jalapeños and carrots definitely livens up something simple. La Morena peppers are hand selected, using only the highest quality peppers to bring you authentic home style flavors of Mexico. I purchased my La Morena items from my local Safeway, but you can find them at your favorite grocery store in the international food section. #PayItForwardwithLM #VivaLaMorena #WeCanWithLaMorena

INGREDIENTS:
- 32 oz tater tots
- 2 cups shredded cheese (Mexican blend + Pepper Jack)
- 2 cups prepared bbq pulled pork (check my pulled pork sliders recipe!)
- 1/2 can La Morena Adobo Peppers & Sauce
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 2 tablespoons ranch dressing
- 1 cup pico de Gallo
- 1/2 cup guacamole
- 3 chopped green onions
- 3-4 La Morena jalapeños and carrots, sliced

INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare tater tots as instructed, in air fryer or oven. Heat oven to 450°.
Cover the bottom of a large cast iron skillet with the cooked tater tots.
Top with 1 1/2 cup of cheese.
Combine the chopped adobo peppers and sauce with the prepared bbq pulled pork. Spread the pulled pork mixture on top of the tater tots, then top with the remaining cheese.
Bake in the preheated oven for 5 minutes.
Top with sour cream, ranch, pico de Gallo, guacamole, green onions, and sliced jalapeños and carrots.

Enjoy!! 😋

Happy December, all!! 🎄Since it’s basically Christmas now, it’s time to share ALL the holiday cookies!

Every year I join my friend @natashanicholes as she heads up her #HousefulofCookies virtual cookie swap, where many of us share some sweet treats for the holiday season.

This year I’ve created Cranberry Pistachio Citrus Cookies to share as my contribution. 🍪 I know that a lot of things have turned “virtual” throughout this year, but a little virtual bake-off is a fun way to connect with some of your favorite people!

Hello Instagram fam! 💖 There’s some new faces around here and it’s been a while since I showed mine!

I’m Dawn, creator of Mama Harris’ Kitchen, and I’m so glad you’re here with me! In this space I share my family-friendly recipes for all occasions, whether it be a 30-minute meal for those busy weeknight dinners or a full spread for entertaining a crowd - and everything in between.

Mama Harris’ Kitchen began back in 2012, in fact it’s 8 years this month! 🥳 What started as a way to document my newfound cooking hobby while managing my “new” life as a stay-at-home wife and mom to a 1 and 3 year along with teens and preteens, and it quickly grew into what it is now - a recipe resource for busy families like mine that enjoy flavorful and comforting home-cooking using pantry staples along with fresh and local ingredients as often as possible.

🍿Five fun facts about me:
1. I LOVE elephants! 🐘 I collect a lot of elephant items, whether it’s trinkets or artwork, notepads etc. I love what elephants symbolize and I truly love anything elephant related.
2. I’m a total plant lady! 🌱 I have about 35 houseplants, give or take, and there’s still more on the list of wants. Plants have become such a peaceful outlet for me, and I feel that they really center me within my space. I love the element plants bring to your space and the feel of your home with them in it, and new leaves are so exciting!
3. I have seven tattoos and I have plans for about eight more. 💉 Those that know me aren’t surprised, but those that follow me here tend to find it a bit surprising. 🙃
4. I’ve been a mother for a long time, over half my life! I’ve also been a lot of different “types” of mom - teen mom, single mom, working mom, stepmom, stay at home mom, PROUD mom, military mom, mother in law - the list goes on. No matter what, motherhood looks different for everyone and there’s unique challenges and experiences each mother faces. Please be gentle with yourself! ❤️At the end of the day we’re all just trying our best!
5. I’m a bit of an introvert, and often struggle with the “social” aspect of social media. I tend to go silent sometimes, but I’m working on it.

☀️Thank you for joining me here!
