A Bonus Birthday!

Today is another special day for us!

For a large part of my life I was a single mom. When I met the man that would eventually became my husband, we knew from the start this time was different. Something about our relationship, it just was. It was as though we’d known each other for decades. As alike we are, we still have many differences as well. But one thing that was clear was how important our children were to us. Neither of us wanted to be involved with someone our kids didn’t like. In addition to that, it was important for us to blend our family correctly, and that all our kids genuinely liked one another as well. This was another extension of our relationship that just flowed naturally. It was a process and it didn’t happen in a day. First he met my kids, then I met his. Then our kids met.

From day one it just worked. In those early stages of our relationship I not only fell in love with my husband, but I also fell in love with his son. He was so little then, and such a cutie. He was quiet and shy at first, but of course once all our kids met they let loose and I got to see how silly this little guy is too. Through the years I’ve seen that sweet and quiet little boy become an intelligent, polite, humble, silly and tough young man. Through all his silly pranks, crazy jokes and wild hairstyles he’s grown up and become a leader and a noble young man. My world wouldn’t be the same without this crazy guy that I call my bonus baby. Happy Birthday to you, lil G. It’s been a pleasure watching you grow. I love you!
