#SprintMom HTC tech

My Review of the Sprint HTC One (M8) Harman/Kardon Edition

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Sprint. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.”

Hey, do you remember a few weeks ago when I told you about my partnership with Sprint in the #SprintMom Program (and held a giveaway for an HTC One Max)? Well, shortly after I received a similar  phone to review and share my thoughts with you about it. During that time I was actually out of town travelling for a few weeks, so Big G and RiRi opened it up and enjoyed playing with it until my return, they said it was to help facilitate my review of the Sprint HTC One phone.

The Sprint HTC One (M8) Harman/Kardon Edition Smartphone

Big G FB postThese photos that my husband posted to Facebook were actually my first impression of the phone. While it looked very cool, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it so I could really form a solid opinion.

The things I was most looking forward to trying out with this phone were:

  • The Full HD, 5 inch display
  • 32 GB of internal memory, extendable to 128 MB with a microSD
  • Quality photos with 5 megapixela on the front camera and Ultrapixels on the rear camera, in addition instant capture with the Duo Camera
  • 1080p full HD video recording
  • Up to 22 hours of talk time with a 2600 mAh lithium battery
  • The music experience that the Harman/Kardon Edition offers that pairs perfectly with Sprint’s new Sound Sessions – Sprint  is giving customers access to Spotify’s catalog of more than 20  million songs!

Of  course, since I was away, my dear husband informed me that RiRi was already asking to keep the phone as hers. She had already personalized it and took the first selfie. They went to Lil G’s football camp and she was taking videos in the bleachers.

The quality of the videos she took was spectacular! I was beyond impressed, and they were both gushing over how awesome this phone was. I just had to see for myself.

My Review of the Sprint HTC One (M8) Harman/Karmon Edition Smartphone

Once home, I compared  my phone (the iPhone 5C) and my eldest sons phone (the Samsung Galaxy S4) with the HTC One (M8) Harman/Kardon Edition Smartphone. I was pleasantly surprised. Obviously they are both larger phones than mine, but I didn’t expect  the HTC phone to be larger than the Samsung as well.

I was immediately impressed. The phone is handsome and well designed. It has a pretty metallic bronze/gold finish with matching headphones in a superior sound. This phone comes with so many options, even to take a simple photo there’s a wide variety of options. I also really like the HTC BlinkFeed, which you can customize to show your choice of apps. I chose my social media, so it always presents me my most recent feeds on any of my social media channels.

I love that huge screen, and the colors and images are vivid  and beautiful.

After changing all of my daughters settings to my own and customizing everything to my liking, I decided to  try out the camera.

Review of the Sprint HTC One M8 Harman Kardon Edition SmartphoneI was immediately impressed by the Duo Camera and flash, as well as how comfortable the phone is in my hand while I take photos. The beveled back makes it perfect for the palm of your hand.

I took a few random shots with my other phone, the iPhone 5C, and my DSLR so they can be compared with the photos from the HTC One (M8) Smartphone. These photos are completely unedited, aside from dropping them into a collage to share here.

HTC One m8 elephant comparisonAs you can see, my elephant statue when captured by the HTC One phone is almost as good of a photo as my pricy DSLR. With my iPhone 5C, the color is almost distorted as though the vividness and contrast is up too high.

HTC One m8 rose comparisonOnce again, the iPhone camera made the colors far too vivid, almost pixelizing the photo. I’ve always had this problem with photos that have a lot of red on my iPhone, but that problem is non existent with the HTC One camera. You can clearly see the colors, the contrasts, and the focal point without being overwhelmed.

When it comes to  phones, the camera  is one of the most important aspects for me, because I am a food blogger. Although now most of my photos are taken with my DSLR, I still share a lot of photos live through my phone on Instagram and Twitter. I like for my photos to look as lifelike as possible, so the camera is a big deal.

Do you know what else is a big deal? The sound of the phone. Often when I’m cooking, cleaning, or even putting my little ones to bed I take advantage of the music on my phone. This phone has an amazing sound quality, and the headphones that come with it are so much more comfortable for my ears than my current phone. I have tiny ears, and earbuds are always uncomfortable for me, but the Harman/Kardon AE-S in-ear headphones are so comfortable and deliver premium sound quality. Perfect for my morning walks when I’m trying to get  a little exercise in before the summer heat hits.

Speaking of music, As a part of Sprint’s new Sprint Sound Sessions, Sprint is giving customers access to Spotify’s catalogue of more than 20 million songs.

  • Spotify allows users to play music on demand, create playlists, discover new music, share tracks with their friends, listen to songs offline, and listen to music without ads across multiple devices.
  • Access to Spotify allows you to listen to millions of songs on the go, if you tried the Spotify feature what did you love most about the ability to have a full music library at your fingertips?

If you like what you see here, check out more information on the HTC One (M8) Harmon/Kardon Edition phone at Sprint’s website.

Okay, I’m in the market for a new phone, and had only been considering iPhone or another Galaxy. Thanks so much for this review…and for giving me another option!
