There’s an exciting event coming up soon that I just have to share with you.
On Saturday, March 28th 2015, Chef Nancy Silverton will be hosting a Cooking Demo at Macy’s Union Square in San Francisco! Some of my longtime readers might remember when I attended one of these events a few years back and met an Iron Chef, so I’m really excited about this chance to meet Chef Silverton.
If you’re not familiar with Nancy Silverton, I can help bring you up to speed.
Chef Silverton is an American chef and baker from Southern California that trained as a formal chef in Europe, attending both Le Cordon Bleu in London, England and Ecole Lenotre Culinary Institute in Plasir, France. She has won a James Beard Foundation award for Outstanding Chef and Pastry Chef of the Year and won Best of Food and Entertaining by Bon Appétit. She has partnered with Mario Batali to open an Italian Restaurant, and has quite a few cookbooks and other ventures under her belt. She’s been a part of Macy’s Culinary Council for many year, and they help bring gourmet cooking to your kitchen table with recipes, tips, events and more!
During this event, Chef Silverton will be sharing recipes that are inspired by the Macy’s Flower Show. The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market, a tri-weekly California Certified Farmers Market operated by CUESA, will provide some of the produce and ingredients for the demonstration.
The best part? There will be plenty of scrumptious samples to enjoy!
