Welcome to week 17 of our weekly Thursday Blog Hop, Think Outside the Blog.
Here we are on week 17 of our super unique blog hop – Think Outside the Blog. A week ago I attended an event for Black History Month in honor of the legendary Gordon Parks. That evening I met some pretty incredible people that discussed the life and works of Mr. Parks. One thing that was discussed was how he blazed his own trail, instead of thinking in the box, or even outside of the box — he built his own box! That comment stuck with me, and reminded me of our little blog hop and the small community we’ve built with it.
I’m a fairly new blogger (been blogging almost 8 months now) and I remember having no idea where to start. I joined some groups and quickly saw that a lot of bloggers participated in blog hops. I saw this was a great way to socialize with other bloggers and gain readership as well as find others that you may have a common bond with. This was fun, and I notice a lot of different types of blog hops. Some are only food related, some are connected to all social networks, and some have a very specific theme. All great in their own right, but my group of girls and myself decided we wanted to do things a little different. We wanted to start something for people who don’t quite fit a mold, whatever that may be.
Of course I say this every week, everyone is unique in their own rite. Where some may try to fit in with others and emulate their success, others may be trying to formulate their own route. Neither is right or wrong, but the group of ladies I’m involved with are all trailblazers in their own rite, and I’m proud to be a part of this with them.
I also couldn’t be more thrilled that you all continue to join us each week, and add your names with ours. Thank you, once again, for supporting what we are doing here. I appreciate you so much!
This week our co-host is Confessions of a Songstress.
She is a part of another group of ladies I’m involved in, and we all participated in a #BlogLuv Valentine Exchange. That idea for the exchange was originated by her, and other group members helped it develop into what it was. I love this girl so much, and I enjoy reading her journey. She blogs about her journey in Southern California while navigating single (and dating) life, her natural hair journey, as well as some product reviews and recipe sharing. Go check her out!
Make sure you add your link at the bottom via the inlinkz tool, follow all the hosts via Google Friend Connect, or subscribe to their feed. Add their various social networks and mingle with some of the other folks that link up. This is a blog hop for those bloggers a little out of the norm to socialize and find other like-minded bloggers, so enjoy yourself and make some new friends.
Grab a button for your sidebar or party page, share the hop with a few friends and spread the word! You can view week 16 here. Join us back here every Thursday!
