Now that the littlest kids are in school full time, the months have been just flying by. I can’t believe that Christmas is around the corner and we’ll be celebrating a new year! I’ve already begun some of my Christmas shopping, and I have a few new people on my list this year. Last summer we decided to enroll D-Man in private school for kindergarten. It was very important to my husband, he began his school years in private school and so did his mother. So we found a school that suited us well. We already knew many of the parents and teachers and it just worked out perfectly. Fortunately there is also a preschool on site where we enrolled RoRo as well.
I remember their first day of school, they were so excited!
D-Man has absolutely flourished. He’s an exemplary student, a good role model to his peers and he’s made so many new friends. Not only that, but he really does love school. He’s eager to share what he’s learned, and we’re only a few months into kindergarten and he’s reading already!
As for RoRo, we had actually planned for him to only attend three days a week. We thought it would help him transition from being home with me full time to a school schedule. Well, this was difficult. We were taking him to school every other day, and he never got to settle fully into a routine. A few times there were three day weekends and he attended two days in a row and we saw such a difference. After two months of school, he was still struggling. He was still crying when we left, he wasn’t eating at lunchtime, he wasn’t napping. He wasn’t even playing with the other kids too much! I just knew that it was the schedule that was causing the problem. So we decided to enroll him five days a week and we saw such a huge change almost immediately. He loves school now! He can’t wait to go, he shares songs with us at home and he has so much artwork that he’s made. It’s just so amazing to see what a difference going full time has made.
Showing Appreciation this Season
I attribute their success to their teachers. Both of their teachers are just amazing. They are kind, they’ve really gotten to know my boys as well as our family. They always talk to us and share everything about their days and I’m just so grateful that these women are leading my boys each day. I wanted to do something really sweet for them both, since they’ve done so much for our boys. So of course they were added to our Christmas list.
This past weekend I was shopping at Walmart and I discovered the Hallmark Northpole gifts and toys section.
Of course I was instantly smitten by some of these adorable gifts like this Bake Like an Elf set that D-Man would just LOVE, complete with a sprinkle bell and a rolling cookie cutter. I think I’ll be going back for these as a gift to my favorite little sous chef!
You know what else? I also found the perfect gifts for my boys teachers!
I found these cute mugs, nesting bowls and a fun spreader and party plate. What I thought was adorable is that each item came in two different patterns and all three of the items went so well together. They’d be perfect for a hostess gift, but I chose to gift these to our new favorite teachers. I thought all of these items would be such a perfect way for them to unwind after a long day dealing with kids.
The blue pattern is such a pretty color and I just love the little snowflakes on everything. Even the packaging is cute!
So cute, right?
I think the red pattern is just adorable and I love the look of stitching, and it goes so perfectly with the nesting bowls that look like a cable knit sweater.
I already wrapped these gifts up and have them up in a closet safe so they don’t get broken before they’re ready to be gifted. I can’t wait to present these to their teachers, and I hope they love them just as much as I do. I actually want to get more of these for myself!
What are some of your gifting traditions?
Check out the Hallmark Northpole gifts and toys section at your local Walmart for some really cute fun for all ages!

These are really the *perfect* teacher’s gifts!! They’re something that will be used and enjoyed year after year but definitely won’t clutter up houses, and it’s something anyone would love! Perfect job! 🙂 #client
