Today, my youngest child is two years old!
Seriously, where does the time go?
When I met my husband, I was a single mom of 2 kids. I didn’t even want more children! I was happy with my boy and my girl, we were both single parents and our kids all got along great.
What more could we want?
A few years into our relationship, we decided to set a date for our wedding. We knew early on that we would marry each other. We always talked about it and planned it. Very soon after we got married we discovered we were expecting our first child together. Along came D-Man, who was a very wanted baby. We all felt like he was the joining link to our family, but he was also 9 years younger than our youngest child. Even when I was still pregnant with D-Man I would say how I wanted another baby after him. We had a tough pregnancy with him, and I was on bedrest for the majority of that time. We had many, many scary nights where we thought he would come early, but we made it to full term and D-Man was a healthy baby boy! This left us a bit scared and wary of another pregnancy (of course!) especially my husband. I would go back and forth with the idea of another child, and if we could really go through all that again.
RoRo was our surprise baby, and he came at the perfect time. If he hadn’t have come when he did, we were ready to just keep our family as it was. But there were other plans in the making.
D-Man needs RoRo, he balances our entire family. RoRo is a sweet, gentle little boy of few words, Ever since the day he was born we knew he was different. All my labor stories were easy, RoRo decided to be difficult and turn around last minute. With a breech baby and labor already started, my fourth baby was my first c-section! From the day I held him, I knew he was as sweet as can be. He has maintained that. D-Man is our loud and crazy kid, RoRo is the calming force. They are like yin and yang. They are just over 2 years apart, and everyone always thinks they are twins.
RoRo still doesn’t talk too much, although in the past month his vocabulary has multiplied many times over. He is a cuddler, and still loves to fall asleep in my arms. Very different from most 2 year olds that would prefer running around and getting into everything they can.
His smile is infectious, but when he’s mad that face can look so mean! He delights in all the little things around him, and he studies everything, seeing how they work, observing people and situations.
He’s so much like me in that way. 🙂
Happy 2nd Birthday to my baby, I love you RoRo!

LOL! RoRo still can be a handful, but he’s just quiet and sweet so you can’t get mad at him! haha
